Bill is an attorney with COOK, p.c. where he focuses on FELA and personal injury litigation. He received his Juris Doctorate from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia.
While attending law school at night, Bill worked at COOK, p.c. and its predecessor firm for five years as a paralegal/investigator. Before pursuing a law degree, Bill worked as a railroad conductor. Shortly after beginning his railroad career, Bill became active in union politics where he was first elected as vice president and then local chairman. He was also elected as assistant general chairman. As a local chairman, Bill was responsible for representing dozens of railroaders during disciplinary hearings, assisting his members in applying for and receiving Railroad Retirement Board benefits and handling thousands of time claims and pay disputes against the railroad. He went on to further his railroad experience as Director of Labor Relations and Regulatory Affairs at Palmetto Railways in Charleston, SC. These experiences have provided Bill with a unique perspective and extensive knowledge of railroad operations and regulations.
Additionally, Bill spent nine years working for the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension Service. He worked as a county extension agent in multiple Georgia counties and also served on the Georgia 4-H State Staff.
